My Background
An accomplished trial lawyer and business leader, I bring 28 years of experience to you. I trained at Jenner & Block, a premiere litigation firm based in Chicago, before working with a litigation boutique and eventually forming my own law firm. In 2011, I was hired as Deputy General Counsel at Groupon, where I oversaw litigation, employment, IP, and international legal matters. I even spent a year living and working overseas.
From there, I went on to serve as General Counsel for two publicly traded companies and a technology startup in Chicago.
In addition to my legal career, I've also launched and manage a startup, giving me a unique perspective into the world of law entrepreneurs as an entrepreneur myself. I've seen issues from all sides, something most lawyers cannot say.
My Why
I know that hiring a lawyer is a black box and expenses add up quickly. You go into a firm with one question, and you come out with ten problems. You hire a firm based on a recommendation or a brand name, but you don't know what you need, what it should cost, or what to do. You have to rely on the lawyer you hired who also has to satisfy their billing and production requirements at their firm. Your interests are not aligned no matter what the law firms tell you. That's why I've decided to offer my services on a limited, fixed fee basis, to give you certainty with your legal needs and your legal spend, and to be your guide through the unfamiliar waters of the legal world.
Client Focus
My fixed fee services are best suited to individuals and small and mid-sized businesses that have no lawyers or a very small legal team.
My litigation services are well suited to anyone involved in a dispute who wants an independent, experienced voice guiding the process without divided loyalties.
Second opinions work for anyone who wants a fresh look from an experienced lawyer who has been involved in legal matters from nearly every angle.
If any of these sound like you, let's connect.
