Illinois Adopts Emergency Unemployment Rules in Response to the Coronavirus Crisus. The feds wait.

Social distancing and self-quarantine promote social health and everyone should be doing their part to follow the recommendations. But these practices do not come without costs and for many people, that cost might be their job. The State of Illinois has responded by enacting emergency rules that you can find here. We have not yet seen similar federal legislation but a bill has been introduced to the Senate and there should be action on it this week. I will continue to monitor and post upates.
