Note to Universities: Refund the Fees

Matt Miller

Working with DiCello Leavitt and Cowper Law, we've expanded our efforts to help students everywhere obtain the refunds they deserve. Yesterday we filed lawsuits against the California State University and the University of California Systems. It's just plain wrong for schools to hold on to fees for services they aren't providing. Here's a link to coverage in U.S. News.

College is already expensive enough for families. People pour their entire life savings into education or, if they cannot do that, they take on debt that will follow them around for years. And now, with campuses closing all around the country, the schools want to keep the fees they charge for campus services that are no longer provided. That's just plain wrong at any time, and it is unconscionable for schools to keep the money during a pandemic that's already wreaking financial havoc and disrupting lives. The money the schools are keeping belongs to the students. We intend to get it back for them.

Message me if you know anyone who wants to join these cases in CA or if they have similar complaints elsewhere. These cases follow similar lawsuits we've filed in Arizona and also against Liberty University and Grand Canyon University. Public or private, the campus fees should be refunded.
